Helionephro

Helionephro is in the heart of a tourist zone, with many high-end hotels, quality restaurants, bars, boutiques, businesses, cinemas, Luna Park, a great aquatic entertainment park, enchanting beaches, archaeological and mediaeval sites and magnificent landscapes.

Kallithea, Rhodos, Greece

The Helionephro haemodialysis centre is situated in Kallithea, 5Km from the the city of Rhodos and 20Km from Diagoras International airport. It is a modern centre, spread over three airconditioned floors totalling 9,000 sq.m., with a lift.

There are 28 dialysis stations, each with a cloakroom, telephone, television and internet access and each can be equipped with an armchair or bed, according to the patient's wishes. This enables patients to relax, entertain or manage his or her professional tasks.

Patients who are carriers of Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C are taken care of in a separate room with dedicated machines, sinks and private cloakrooms. HIV positive patients are also welcomed and benefit from the same attentions.

Facilities

Helionephro offers all types of dialysis including low or high flux haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and haemodiafiltration. The generators used are the most modern technology and water treatment is based upon the principle of double reverse osmosis.

Helionephro has qualified trilingual staff (Greek, English and French) consisting of one on-site nephrologist, one care supervisor and and nurse for every four patients and a hostess. Nurses are multilingual, experienced and have received extensive training in haemodialysis. A nephrologist physician is present at every haemodialysis session and machines are sterilised after every patient.

Patients with Hepatitis and HIV

Rhodos Island is one of the largest Greek islands, set in the Aegean Sea. It is a popular holiday destination for both independent and package holidays, with sunshine 300 days per year.

Alternatively if you stay in other accommodation Helionephro can arrange transport to the centre, as well as to and from the airport on arrival and departure and a professional tour guide can arrange excursions to fit in with dialysis treatments.

Accommodation and transport

All correspondence will be between the patient (or doctor) and the individual centre and MHL will not be a party to this. We recommend that patients should make any checks they consider appropriate before attending for dialysis.

A nephrologist physician is available 24 hours per day for any problem, from simple advice to an emergency, in which case there is a specially adapted treatment room with oxygen therapy. Where necessary patients can be transferred to the General Hospital of Rhodos by Helionephro's own ambulance.
